Total Fire
Total Fire

who will determine if my house is a total loss after a fire?
my house caught fire every room was heavily damaged.will i be able to have the whole house rebuilt from the ground up?
Likely, your local fire marshall will declare if the house has to be knocked down or not. But it's not like a car, where it gets declared 'totalled' and then they pay off.
They'll pay to fix only the damaged portions of the house, up to the policy limit, unless you have an extra coverage on it - called building ordinance or law coverage. If the township requires that the building be demolished, because it has more than 50% damage, and you don't have this extra coverage, your insurance still only pays the damaged amount, not the extra, due to the law.
As to whether or not you'll have enough to rebuild from the ground up, that will depend on whether or not you carried enough insurance on the house.
