Its for MY muslim sisters!

May you ALL earn great rewards in the hereafter!

And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for Allah loveth those who do good. (Al-Baqara: 195)

To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good. Wheresoever ye are, Allah will bring you Together. For Allah Hath power over all things. (Al-Baqara: 148)

O ye who believe! make not unlawful the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, but commit no excess: for Allah loveth not those given to excess. (Al-Maaida: 87)
@simple truth:

As Salaam to you all,

The true question should be, "what is Islamic dress outside the description of modesty?"

Most people who dress Islamically to their belief, is in actual fact nothing more than following the customs of their own region of birth.

When I became a Muslim my brothers instructed me to wear the clothes of someone from Pakistan to show that I had become a Muslim. But I declined the offer by stating that I did not come from there and if my actions do not give an indication to my faith, by entering the Musjid on a regular basis, then is it only the clothes that speak about your faith? My brother [Christian] told my mother to give him two sheets to wear being as this was his level of knowledge about Islam.

Look at what Muslims wear today and then do your research, are men wearing turbans or clothes like the Prophet (pbuh) and the answer is no. Are Muslimah's wearing what the Mothers of Islam wore back then and again the answer is no.

Clothes do not make the man or the woman but their actions speak louder than words can ever do.

Be modest in your dress and if the country you live in bans your females of wearing what they wish to wear, then look at the alternatives. As in France with the ban on the Burkah or face veil, then substitute it for a surgical [respirator] mask, to ward of the smells of the heavy pollution in the streets.

Wa Salaam
Mahmood Tahir
