Why is Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa Arizona so popular with white voters?
Five-term Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's approval ratings is high among white people but low with Blacks and Mexican people.
I am guessing a sheriffs job is to uphold the law. So anybody who obeys the law would support this man or sheriff, right? People who break the law would not support anybody who enforced the law, right? Then by what you are saying the white voters must not be law breakers and the other people you talk of must be people who break the law, right? It would seem simple to me that if you break the law you will not support any person who enforces the law. This is easy to understand. What drug dealer or murderer would be supporting the man who enforces the law?
